Wine Review: This yellow colored Napa Chardonnay opens with a pleasant mild lemon and gentle vanilla oak bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, slightly acidic and very juicy. The flavor profile is a ripe apple with notes of lemon and nicely integrated vanilla oak. I also detected a hint of butterscotch as well. The finish is dry and its enjoyable flavors linger for quite some time. This Chardonnay is Very Good and would pair well with Sherry laced lobster bisque. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2010 Chardonnay again hails from Rancho Sarco Vineyard in Napa's southern Coombsville AVA. It displays a light straw color with aromas of pear, hazelnut and lemon zest. A touch of honey and light barrel caramels accent flavors of lemon custard, pineapple, granny smith apple and wet stone. This wine was fermented using native yeast to promote an exotic flavor and aromatic profile. Only 25% of the wine underwent malolactic fermentation, thus preserving Chardonnay's inherent crisp acidity. We are truly proud of this effort!
