Wine Review: This opaque and dark purple colored Zinfandel opens with a fragrant wintergreen, cinnamon, pine, and black cherry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied and balanced. The flavor profile is a black currant and plum blend with notes of dark chocolate and black olive. I also detected a touch of oak on the back palate. The finish is dry and its tannins are a bit sticky. This wine would pair well with beef bourguignon. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2008 Zin's inky color and brooding aromas are entirely compelling. This wine combines a myriad of traits – black fruit, clove, marzipan, cinnamon, soy and raspberry. The mid-palate shows depth and concentration. Blackberry, curranand ripe plums sit in the front row on this rich, round wine. The back palate shows enough structure to be a wonderful accompaniment to an array of meats and barbecue dishes.
