Wine Review: This very dark ruby colored Cab opens with a mild black currant bouquet with a hint of menthol. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and packed with flavor. That flavor profile is a tasty ripe black cherry with nicely integrated oak and a touch of cassis. The finish is quite dry and its building tannins are sticky and linger for quite a while. This wine has a pleasant palate presence that will go well with food. It does need a little fat to offset the young tannins. Pair with a slow cooked point cut of beef brisket. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The Hunnicutt 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon exhibits beautiful dark purple to black color with perfumey ripe, red fruit with a wonderful envelop of black cherry and blueberry. It has a deep, soft entry with bright cherry pie filling flavors backed by warm, toasty oak. The tannins are lively and firm with well-structured acidity and a lengthy finish. Winemaker - Kirk Venge
