Wine Review: This opaque and very dark purple colored Shiraz was one of our top finishers in our recent Big Blind tasting. It opens with an acai and blueberry jam bouquet with hints of eucalyptus and cola. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, elegant, and easy going. The flavor profile is a tasty blueberry with notes of gentle minerality with hints of cherry, strawberry and coffee. The finish is dry and its fine tannins and flavors drift away nicely. The Panel suggested pairing this extremely food friendly Shiraz with veal medallions with a brown sauce. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: This is the most finely-structured and elegant of our three vintages of Hickinbotham Vineyard Shiraz. It's another step in our determined effort to get the best from this distinguished upland site. Each of our three Shiraz vintages is a little further from the traditional high-alcohol, full-bodied McLaren Vale Shiraz from the lower, warmer country in the south of the region.
