Wine Review: This pale straw colored Chardonnay from Washington has a delicate bouquet of golden apple and nectarine with light floral notes. It is medium bodied, dry and tart with bracing acidity. Flavors of green apple, pear, gravel and a touch of lemon. The finish is citrusy and is moderate in length. A quick weeknight dinner of a supermarket rotisserie chicken would go well with this Chard. - Mark

Winemaker Notes: Stainless steel has brought to prominence a dramatic balance of mineral and fruit gifted by Stillwater Creek’s fractured basalt soils. Wonderful aromas of ripe white pears and apple blossoms emerge from the glass with notes of citrus and a touch of beeswax. Its perfect medium-plus body and acidity deliver clean flavors of pear with a slice of golden delicious apple, and a blade of lemongrass supported by a flinty/basalt minerality. This is best served a touch on the cooler side. Pair with miso glazed halibut, shellfish or goat and soft cow cheeses.
