Wine Review: This midnight purple colored Merlot from Washington State open with a wet stone and faint plum bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and juicy. The flavor profile is very European in style. It displays a mineral infused black olive flavors with notes of black plum. The finish is dry and has nice length for a Merlot. I would pair it with beef bourguignon. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: This is a sturdy Merlot, possessing a deep ruby color with a complex aromatic mix of dark fruit, incense, garden soil, bay leaf, chocolate and a breath of vanilla. Black currant and cherry charge the palate, riding over a texture of medium-round and slightly chewy tannins, while chasing dried plums dipped in dark chocolate with drops of toffee and sprinkled with savory spice. You might think twice about marinara and go for the beef.
