Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Pinot Noir from Hartford is Excellent. It opens with a fragrant and attractive black raspberry bouquet with hints of oak and black pepper. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, nicely balanced, very smooth and quite juicy. The flavor profile is an extracted black raspberry and black currant blend with notes of oak, minerality and black pepper. I also detected hints of anise and red plum towards the end. The finish is dry and its flavors and moderate tannins have very nice length and linger for quite some time. I would decant it briefly, as it only get better with a little air. I would pair this terrific Pinot with a filet mignon. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Exuberant aromas of berries, black cherry and exotic spice aromatics are supported by bright flavors of red and black cherry, blood orange and soy. Velvety, fine grained tannins complement a long finish with subtle clove and citrus nuances.
