Wine Review: This ruby colored Pinot Noir from Goldeneye is Excellent! It opens with a black raspberry and blueberry bouquet with hints of cherry licorice and vanilla. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, smooth, and slightly lush. The flavor profile is a blueberry and ripe black cherry blend with notes stone dust and allspice. I also detected hints vanilla, cedar, and a hint of cola. The finish is dry, and its flavors and very refined tannins linger nicely. This Pinot is very food friendly and would pair well with a duck breast crostini. It did not last long. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Displaying mesmerizing aromas of cassis, black plum, blueberry, and pennyroyal, as well as French oak-inspired hints of cedar and clove, this smooth and sultry wine beckons a first sip. On the plush, juicy palate, robust tannins and a streak of enlivening acidity frame the luxurious black cherry and blackberry jam flavors, with notes of sweet holiday spices emerging on the long, rich finish.
