Wine Review: This very deep ruby colored Pinot Noir from Goldeneye is impressive! It opens with a very inviting Maine blueberry pie bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with nicely integrated acidity. The flavor profile is a very tasty mild blueberry with notes of black cherry and mint. I also detected hints of boysenberry, gentle oak, dried coconut, and baking spices in the mix. The finish is dry and its flavors and fine tannins drift away nicely. This very versatile Anderson Valley Pinot is showing very well right now. I would pair it with duck breast with blueberry mostarda. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Exuding fragrant layers of blackberry, blueberry, ripe red plum, black tea, anise and pennyroyal, this wine is dark, rich, and complex. The blue and black fruit flavors are echoed on the bright and juicy palate, where they are underscored by a shimmering cool-climate acidity that provides length and persistence to a long, mouth-filling finish.
