Wine Review: This bright red colored Pinot Noir from the Anderson Valley opens with a fragrant and appealing strawberry and blueberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, smooth and fruit forward. The flavor profile is a rich black cherry and blueberry blend with nicely integrated oak. I also detected hints of minerality and spice mixed in as well. The finish is dry and its moderate refined tannins fade away nicely. This Pinot is food friendly and would pair well with pork tenderloin with fig. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: The exceptional 2012 vintage yielded a rich, robust Anderson Valley Pinot Noir with a delightful blend of sweet and savory elements. On the palate, beautifully delineated layers of freshly tilled earth, leather, lavender and pennyroyal are balanced by flavors of sweet Bing cherry, Japanese plum and black currant notes. The mouth feel is round and plump, gliding to a long, satisfying finish marked by lingering notes of chocolaty French oak.
