Wine Review: This 100% Chardonnay offering from Gloria Ferrer doesn't have quite the cache that the Sonoma Brut and Blanc de Noirs do. It flies under the radar because there is less of this to go around but it is just as worthy to be a part of the family. The bubbles are medium-sized but any bigger and this sparkler would come off sweet as it has some nice weight and richness to it that is quite pronounced. From brioche to custard and from kumquats to starfruit, the Blanc de Blancs flirts with both dense and light flavors. This would pair nicely with fried chicken or fish and chips. – Nicolay

Winemaker Notes: Opens up with an enticing orange blossom bouquet, lively bubble trails and fine mousse. On the palate, the wine is creamy, clean and refreshing. Flavors of Granny Smith apples, lemongrass, brioche and vanilla crème resolve with lively mineral notes into a well-balanced finish. This sparkling wine pairs well with seared scallops, baked halibut or soft goat cheese.
