Wine Review: The Garofoli "Podium" Verdicchio is a white wine with plenty of layers and nuances of flavors. The nose opens up with almond, Crenshaw melon, peaches, and hints of grapefruit. The top layer of the wine is citrus fruits like lemons and grapefruits, the middle layers has notes of melons and stone fruits like peaches and nectarines, while the bottom layer is composed of toasted almonds and hazelnut. The finish has a lemon-like acidity that is so mouthwatering, it helps the flavors linger. I would enjoy this Verdicchio with a nice roasted duck. - Nicolay
Winemaker Notes: Color: Golden yellow with greenish reflections.
Bouquet: Intense aroma of ripe yellow fruit accompanied by elegant scents of citrus fruit combined with a note of honey, an ensemble of great complexity and persistence.
Flavor: Seductive and soft but with great character and strength, sapidity is extremely prolonged, warm and elegant; the fruity notes of the bouquet are reprised in the constantly evolving flavor.
Food Matches: The wine is a perfect accompaniment for imposing and elaborate seafood dishes and preparations of poultry of all types flavored with herbs.
