Wine Review: This very pale gold colored Riesling from Fritz Haag opens with an iced tea, lychee, and crushed stone bouquet with hints of lemon, gardenia, and sea spray. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is viscous, round, pleasantly sweet, and mouthwatering. The flavor profile is a very tasty, white peach and apricot blend with notes of integrated stony minerality, pear and iced tea. We also detected hints of white pepper, ginger, and lime zest. The finish is sweet, and its flavors and acidity are very nicely prolonged. The Tasting Panel would suggest enjoying this Riesling on its own. With food, we would suggest pairing it with Prosciutto wrapped melon or with fried coconut shrimp. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: A highly aromatic late-picked Riesling with an intensely elegant mineral structure balancing moderate sweetness. The late-picked Brauneberger Juffer Riesling Spätlese has fine, forceful fruit in the aroma, a linear focus on the palate and a pure slate finish.
