Wine Review: This pale straw-colored Chenin Blanc from South Africa is a steal. It opens with a pineapple, grapefruit and flint like bouquet with hints of lemon and kiwi. On the palate, this wine is light plus bodied, with zesty medium acidity. We also found it to have a round mouthfeel. The flavor profile is a tasty mild grapefruit and lemon verbena blend with notes of ginger and lime zest. We also detected hints of white pepper, minerality and melon. It was pretty complex for an entry-level wine. The finish is dry and refreshing. The Panel suggested pairing this Chenin with cold fried chicken. Enjoy – KWGTP
