Wine Review: This platinum gold colored sparkling wine from Etude displays a few tiny streams of bubbles. It opens with a faint Bosc pear and brioche bouquet with hints of green apple and ginger. On the palate, this wine is light plus bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, clean, crisp, and very fresh. The flavor profile is lime zest and chalky minerality blend with notes of green apple and white pepper. We also detected hints of almond, ginger ale, and Bosc pear. The finish is dry, and its flavors and acidity are very nicely extended. The Tasting Panel would pair this crowd-pleasing Blanc de Noirs with broiled scallops, caviar, and/or asparagus risotto. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: This 2019 Blanc de Noirs sparkling wine is a classically styled Brut Méthode Traditionnelle, offering the truest expression of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from our Grace Benoist Ranch. Gorgeous pale straw hues set the stage for a fine, pin-point bead, and fragrant aromas of lightly toasted brioche, red currant and strawberry which sit alongside lifted notes of Meyer lemon. On the palate, a fine mousse showcases a lively citrus zest, allowing the vibrant acidity to balance a rich fruit character, delivering a subtle elegance throughout. The finish is persistent with a vibrant and appealing minerality, ushering hints of crushed rock and buoyant crispness.
