Wine Review: This very dark opaque purple colored wine opens with an attractive mild menthol and black raspberry like bouquet. On the palate, this Cab is full bodied, rich and lush. The flavor profile is a very concentrated blend of black raspberry and blackberry. There were also notes of menthol and black pepper detected. The finish is dry and its managed tannins are nicely prolonged. This wine is a very big Cab. It will appeal to Aussie Shiraz fans. It's a winter wine and would be perfect by the fireplace with sharp cheese. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The Eponymous 2005 exudes intriguing, complex notes as soon as it is poured. The aromas offer scents of ripe plum, violets, berries, currants and spice that are well-integrated. Held to the light, this elegant wine shimmers with a stunning deep purple-scarlet color that announces the intensity of the grapes. The palate is equal to the lush color and bold aromas. Flavors mimic the nose, with added nuances of roasted coffee bean and nutmeg. It is rich, full and round from the initial taste and continuing as it fills the mouth, leading to a long, lingering finish.
