Wine Review: This cloudy and ruby colored Pinot Noir from Dutton Goldfield opens with a shy teaberry and red cherry bouquet with hints of red plum, cedar, and root beer. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, polished, and seamless. The flavor profile is stewed black plum and mild oak blend with notes of gentle loam and pomegranate. We also detected hints of cinnamon, clove, and nutmeg. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and gentle fine-grained tannins drift away nicely. We would pair this crowd-pleasing Pinot with shrimp and grits and with a cedar plank salmon. Winemaker Notes: Leading aromas of black raspberry, cherry, and dried cranberry are framed by herbal notes of lavender, rosemary, and tea leaves notes.
