Wine Review: This dark garnet colored Syrah from Dutton Estate opens with a violet, black plum, and cedar bouquet with hints of black cherry, graphite, and cinnamon. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, and smooth. The flavor profile is a red plum and blackberry blend with notes of oak and stony minerality. We also detected hints of cinnamon tea, black pepper, and oak. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and moderate tannins drift away nicely. The Tasting Panel would pair this Syrah with a Texas style smoked beef brisket. Enjoy - KWGTP
