Wine Review: This midnight purple colored Syrah from Dutton Estate opens with a black cherry and black licorice bouquet with hints of menthol, cedar, chocolate, and pencil shavings. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, lush, and clean. The flavor profile is a red plum, blueberry, and mocha blend with notes of light strawberry and toasted coconut. We also detected hints of oregano, stony minerality and black pepper. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and light tannins drift away nicely. The Tasting Panel would pair this Syrah with braised short ribs. Enjoy - KWGTP
