Wine Review: This slightly opaque and very dark ruby colored Zinfandel from Dry Creek Vineyard opens with a flinty stone and blackberry bouquet with hints of pine and sage. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The flavor profile is a boysenberry and mild stony minerality blend with notes of spiced plum and oolong tea. I also detected some hints of black licorice and blackberry. The finish is dry and its flavors and mild tannins drift away nicely. This Zin would pair well with your favorite beef burrito. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2021 Heritage Vines Zinfandel is flavorful and wonderfully integrated. This vintage presents alluring aromatics of black cherry, boysenberry and plum with nuances of warm spices, mocha, and white pepper. On the palate, brambly flavors of dark berries come forward. The wine is complex, with bright acidity complimented by deeper notes of cedar, fine leather, and dark brown sugar. From start to finish, this remarkable wine offers refreshing acidity paired with excellent structure.
