Wine Review: This medium purple colored Zinfandel from Dry Creek opens with a black raspberry tea and cherry bouquet with hints of cedar and eucalyptus. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium acidity. The mouthfeel is savory. The flavor profile is blackberry tea with notes of stony minerality and oak. We also detected hints of tart red plum, black olive, and black pepper. The finish is dry, and its pronounced dusty tannins are rather lengthy. The Tasting Panel would pair this rustic-styled Zin with marinated steak tips or with a blue cheese burger. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: This vintage presents alluring aromatics of blackberry, boysenberry, and fresh raspberry with notes of cocoa powder, cardamom, toasty cedar, and nutmeg. On the palate, brambly layers of black cherry, blackberry and boysenberry come forward with nuances of coriander, marzipan, and espresso. The wine is complex, with bright acidity complimented by a long, lingering finish. The tannins are structured, but soft, and lend a round, rich mouthfeel.
