Wine Review: This medium yellow colored Chardonnay from Dry Creek open with a mild green apple with hints of pineapple, banana, and pastry crust. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced and clean. The flavor profile is a mild mineral and Anjou pear blend with notes of saline, baking spice, and almond. We also detected some hints of chamomile as well. The finish is dry and refreshing for a Chard. This Chard is food friendly. I would pair it with New England baked haddock or with prosciutto wrapped melon. Enjoy – Ken and Mark
Winemaker Notes: This balanced Chardonnay carries aromas of white peach, honeysuckle, and lychee. A clean minerality carries from the nose to the first sip, and expresses notes of pear, Meyer lemon, and hints of toffee. Traces of nutmeg and spice from its brief barrel aging help contribute to a rich yet bright mouthfeel. Excellent immediate drinkability, although the wine does have potential to age well for 2–4 years.
