Wine Review: This bright white gold colored Chenin Blanc from Dry Creek opens with a very fragrant and appealing Golden Delicious apple and Anjou pear bouquet with a hint of ginger. On the palate, this wine is light to medium bodied with plus acidity that is quite zippy. The flavor profile is a mineral and saline blend with notes of tangy nectarine. I also detected hints of green apple and white pepper. The finish is dry and its acidity and flavors linger and last for quite a while. This Chenin would pair well with grilled sea scallops. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: At first swirl, aromatics of honeydew melon, white peach and watermelon rind spring forward from the glass with notes of orange blossom, honeysuckle and chamomile. On the palate, the wine is refreshing with flavors of lemon, pear and papaya with a hint of green apple. The mouthfeel is lively but rich, with a voluptuous texture. 100% stainless steel fermentation guarantees the fresh fruit character that fans of this wine have come to appreciate over the years. This classic, Loire Valley-style wine is excellent when paired with fresh oysters.
