Wine Review: This midnight purple colored Cabernet Sauvignon based blend opens with a red currant and craisin bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, slightly acidic and savory. The flavor profile is a mineral infused craisin and red plum blend with some notes of cedar. Towards the end and with some air, a little blueberry shows up along with a touch of tea. The finish is rather dry and its sticky tannins linger for quite a while. This wine shows best if decanted in the near term and served with marinated steak tips. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The grapes for this delicious Bordeaux-inspired blend come from several of our most prized estate and hillside vineyards in the Dry Creek Valley. At first swirl, the wine displays aromas of black currant, black cherry and cranberry sauce. Several more minutes reveal hints of allspice, mocha, white pepper and nutmeg. The palate has dark berry flavors along with earthy complexity and spiced plum. It finishes with notes of fine leather, dried herbs and toasty cedar. Good acidity will help this wine to age beautifully for years to come.
