Wine Review: This slightly opaque and very dark red colored "Old Vine" Zinfandel is a big boy. It opens with a mild plum bouquet with a hint of pencil shavings. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and juicy. The flavor profile is a pleasant mineral and oak influenced plum with hints of mulberry and red raspberry. The finish is dry and its dusty tannins build up and linger for an extended period of time. This Zin would pair well with a well-marbled ribeye steak. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: The complexity of our Old Vine Zinfandel lies in the spicy notes that are unique to these historic properties. This vintage presents alluring aromatics of blackberries, dried cranberries and a hint of mocha and nutmeg. On the palate, brambly layers of ripe boysenberry, raspberry and dark chocolate come forward. The wine is complex, with bright acidity complimented by a long, lingering finish of black pepper. The tannins are velvety and smooth to lend a round, rich mouthfeel.
