Wine Review: This opaque and midnight blue colored red blend opens with a very inviting blueberry and acai berry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium to full bodied, nicely balanced, and very easy to drink. The flavor profile is a very tasty blend of black cherry soda and blueberry. I also detected a hint of oak and plum. The finish is dry and its flavors fade away nicely. This wine would be a very nice match with filet mignon. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2009 Mariner presents enticing aromas with deep vibrant hues of attractive red fruits. Aromas are dominated by cassis and dark cherry, toasted vanilla oak, hints of creme brulee and notes of espresso. On the palate, the flavors are harmonious and supple with blackberry and sweet black cherry combining with a toasty complexity. The tannins are fine and grainy, lending excellent structure to this wine. The finish is long and lingering with a charming flavor profile that entices one for another sip.
