Wine Review: This medium gold colored Riesling from Alsace opens with a candle wax, honeydew melon, pineapple and bread dough bouquet with a hint of lychee and nutmeg. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with bright acidity. The mouthfeel is round and clean. The flavor profile is crushed stone and Anjou pear blend with notes of tart lime, ginger, and almond. We also detected a hint of yellow grapefruit mixed in. The finish is rather dry. The Tasting Panel would pair this Riesling with a ham and gruyere quiche or with sauteed scallops. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The robe is lemon yellow with light green reflections of good intensity. The disk is bright and transparent. The wine shows youth. The nose is marked, pleasant and of good intensity. We perceive a dominant of citrus fruits, (mandarin zest, lemon, crystallized orange), white flowers and a light ferruginous. The airing enhances these scents and reveals smoky, flinty notes and spices (ginger). The nose is open and has already a mineral hint. The onset in the mouth is fleshy and the alcoholic base full-bodied. The wine evolves on a rigorous medium, marked by a delicate salinity and a sparkling note. First dominated by mineral (flint) then by citrus fruits (yuzu zest, lime), white flowers and spices (ginger). Pairs beautifully with tempura calamari with crispy vegetables.
