Wine Review: This slightly dark red colored Gamay from Domaine de Colonat opens with a violet and red raspberry bouquet with hints of strawberry licorice, graphite, and earthy loam. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, round, seamless, and fresh. The flavor profile is a mild red raspberry tea and black plum blend with notes of red cherry. We also detected hints of pomegranate and dark chocolate. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and well-managed light dusty tannins drift away nicely. The Tasting Panel would pair this Moulin-à-Vent with a Budaball ham or with a pan-seared duck breast. Enjoy – KWGTP
