Wine Review: This pale straw-colored Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc opens with a ripe honeydew melon and white peach bouquet with a hint of flower blossom and marzipan. On the palate, this wine is light bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round and approachable. The flavor is a honeydew melon and Granny Smith apple with notes of green tea. We also picked up some hints of marzipan and saline. The finish is dry, and its flavors and acidity linger nicely. We would pair this CDP Blanc with fried calamari or Woodman’s fried clams.
