Wine Review: This dark red colored Pinot Noir under the Roserock label is very good. It opens with a stewed black plum and loam bouquet with a hint of black cherry. On that palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, and savory. The flavor profile is black plum and black tea blend with notes of stony minerality and cardamom. We also detected some hints of oak in the mix. The finish is dry and its flavors and refined tannins drift away nicely. This Pinot paired perfectly with my Manzo Brasato con Funghi (Fork tender slow braised beef, shallot, carrot, garlic & burgundy mushroom ragu tossed with rigatoni pasta) or also with a mushroom ravioli dish. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2019 Roserock Pinot Noir is a deep garnet color with flashes of ruby as you swirl the glass. It opens with juicy, dense black currant and tart cherry aromas evolving to charming savory notes such as thyme and sage. A cascade of round dark fruits engulfs the palate, and structured tannins give the impression of firmness, softened by refined ripe plum and strawberry characters—a wine you can enjoy now but which will reward any patience you might have.
