Wine Review: This dark ruby color wine from the Moulin-à-Vent commune opens with a potting soil and black cherry cordial bouquet with a hint of fresh mint. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, round, and rich. The layered flavors feature a kirsch and black licorice blend with notes crushed stone minerality. We also detected hints of blackberry tea, saline, and dark chocolate. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and dusty tannins drift away nicely. This young Beaujolais could benefit from some extra ageing. If you can’t wait, you should decant it for a bit before serving it with a cassoulet. Enjoy - KWGTP
