Wine Review: This light-yellow colored Chardonnay from Monterey opens with a mild green apple and pear bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied and balanced. The flavor profile is a mild lemon and light pear blend with hints of oak and custard. The finish is dry and its acidity and flavors drift away nicely. This Chard's gentle flavors make it versatile and food friendly. I would pair this Chard with chicken and wild mushroom ravioli sautéed in a light butter cream sauce. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Our 2017 Chardonnay is pure, unadulterated Monterey. The aromas are fresh and extroverted with notes of yellow apples, pears and citrus augmented by a blast of vanilla and caramel. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with crisp acidity and a bright, lingering finish. The combination of fruit, viscosity and structure ensures that this Chardonnay can accompany a wide variety of foods from soft cheese to roast chicken or seafood.
