Wine Review: This white gold colored Assyrtiko (ah-seer-teeko) from the Greek island of Crete opens with a lime and quince bouquet with hints of ginger and bee's wax. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is viscous, round, fresh, and bright. The flavor profile is a light lemon-lime and saline blend with notes of quince and green tea. I also detected hints of ginger and tangerine. The finish is dry, and its flavors and acidity are rather lengthy. I would pair this very good Assyrtiko with a linguine with clams in a garlicky white wine sauce. Enjoy – Ken
