Wine Review: I really like refined Viognier and this offering meets that qualification. It is light yellow colored and opens with a mild and classic peach bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium to full bodied, yet delicate. It is also balanced and very approachable. The flavor profile is a gentle peach with a hint of white pepper and minerality. The finish is dry and very pleasant. This wine is very food friendly and would pair perfectly with grilled rainbow trout and potato and leek chowder. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: DiamAndes de Uco Viognier is a blend of single varietal Viognier. A magnificent grape variety, producing among others huge wines of the French region of Condrieu, Viognier develops a very flavourful, complex character thanks to Bodega DiamAndes terroir. Although days are warm, the cool nights at high altitude are essential to produce a unique, very interesting expression of Viognier. The silky, rich structure present in the attack gives way to an explosion of flavours on the palate, from white-flowered fruit to a flinty minerality, with notes of apricot and fresh almonds. The overall impression is very appealing, full of elegance and complexity, with a strong identity.
