Wine Review: This white gold colored Sauvignon Blanc from Davis Estates opens with a white grapefruit and Anjou pear bouquet with hints of passionfruit, lemon, and peonies. On the palate, this wine is medium minus bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is round, bright and fresh. The flavor profile is a slightly tart white grapefruit and lemon blend with notes of saline and stony minerality. We also detected hints of white asparagus, white pepper, green apple, and honey. The finish is dry, and its flavors and acidity linger nicely. The Tasting Panel would pair this Sauvignon Blanc with panko crusted baked cod or with seared scallops. Enjoy – KWGTP
