Wine Review: This slightly cloudy and dark ruby colored Pinot Noir from Davis Estates opens with a black raspberry and cedar bouquet with hints of blueberry, clove, wet stone, and black tea. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, smooth, rich, and structured. The flavor profile is black plum and graphite blend with notes of cherry-cola and strawberry licorice. We also detected some hints of black raspberry, clove, tobacco, and cedar. The finish is dry, and its flavors, gentle acidity and moderate grippy tannins have good length. The Tasting Panel would pair this Pinot with a baked teriyaki salmon or a grilled venison tenderloin medallions. Enjoy – KWGTP
