Wine Review: This opaque and dark garnet colored red blend from Davis Estates opens with a black licorice and red currant bouquet with hints of rum, loam, and violets. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, seamless, polished, and fresh. The flavor profile is a cedar and black currant blend with notes of graphite and stewed red plum. We also detected hints of black licorice, black tea, candied violets, and oak. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity and well-managed dusty tannins stick around for a very long time. The Tasting Panel would pair this red blend with a well-marbled ribeye and hearty hunter's stew. Enjoy - KWGTP
