Wine Review: This opaque and very dark purple colored Syrah opens with a mild red currant and pomegranate bouquet with a hint of wintergreen. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, shows good acidity, and is fruity. The flavor profile is a pleasant mild blackberry with a hint of oak and plum. The finish is dry and closes with a little heat that results in a lingering tingly sensation. This Syrah would pair well with veal marsala. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2008 DAOU Syrah opens with a wealth of aromas of dark fruits, coffee, earth and spices, the mid-palate is complex and silky with hints of bacon leading to an extremely long and exotic finish that just keeps going on forever. This beautiful wine is an example of power and refinement that will age gracefully 5-7 years and provide great pleasure in between. WOW!
