Wine Review: This golden yellow colored Chardonnay from DAOU opens with a Bartlett pear and pineapple bouquet with hints of light florals, lychee, and a whiff of apricot. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, silky smooth, creamy, lush, and rich. The flavor profile is an oak influenced pineapple and pear blend with notes of passionfruit and oak. We also detected hints of cantaloupe, minerality and lime. The finish is dry, and its flavors and acidity linger nicely for a while before drifting away. The Tasting Panel would pair this Chard with lobster bisque or sole meunière. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The 2022 DAOU Estate Chardonnay reveals how the Chardonnay grape achieves brilliant expression on DAOU Mountain. Deep golden hues yield to aromas of honeysuckle, tropical fruit, citrus, toffee and creamy oak. A rich, full-bodied mouthfeel brings flavors of pineapple, guava, toasted bread and quince. Fresh acidity carries deep into the finish with round, satiny textures.
