Wine Review: This pale copper colored wine from DAOU opens with a pleasant pink grapefruit and orange-peel bouquet with hints of pear. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied, balanced, smooth and round. The flavor profile is strawberry and blood orange blend with notes of gentle plum and lively minerality. We also detected notes of wild cherry Life Savers, honeydew melon and pink grapefruit. The finish is dry and its flavors and crisp acidity fade away nicely. This Rose would pair well with Thai food. Winemaker Notes: Our 2019 DAOU Discovery Collection Rosé is inspired by the iconic dry rosés of southern France. This wine is delightfully fragrant and floral, showing lovely aromas of fresh strawberry, sliced peach and watermelon with nuances of hibiscus, cherry and clover honey. The palate is refreshingly crisp yet lusciously smooth, revealing juicy flavors of nectarine, orange, strawberry parfait and golden delicious apple. A long, clean finish lingers with impressions of peach, citrus zest and Barbados cherry.
