Wine Review: This dark purple colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Crossbarn opens with an inviting black currant bouquet with hints of black cherry, dark chocolate, and a faint touch of coconut flakes. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is very well-balanced and super silky. The flavor profile is a very tasty blackberry and stony minerality blend with notes of black currant and black tea. I also detected hints of cedar and blueberry. The finish is very dry and its dusty tannins build-up and last for a very long time. I would decant this Cab briefly before pairing it with Theresa's homemade meatloaf. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Opaque, brilliant garnet in the glass, vibrant aromas of mixed berry compote, Morello cherry, and fresh mint emerge, leading to concentrated, juicy flavors of blueberry, black currant, and tobacco leaf. The 2021 vintage offers a lifted expression of cabernet sauvignon with a luxurious mouthfeel, laced with fine grained tannins, and a long, mouthwatering finish.
