Wine Review: This pale straw colored Gruner Veltliner from Oregon opens with a mild and appealing pear bouquet with hints of lemon verbena. On the palate, this wine is light to medium bodied, nicely balanced and very approachable. The flavor profile is a pleasant green apple with hint of gentle minerality and faint lemon. I also detected as dash of white pepper. The finish is dry and nicely refreshing. This Gruner is very food friendly and would pair perfectly with pan-seared lemon sole. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: This is the epitome of full-bodied, savory, food-friendly Gruner Veltliner. Sage and thyme, dusty white fruit, lemon rind, and white pepper accent the nose. The palate has textural aspects from the neutral barrel fermented portion of the blend, and there is a touch of RS that makes food even more inviting. The finish shows Granny Smith apples, lemon curd, wet stone, a focused amount of acid, and length for ages.
