Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Pinot Noir opens with an attractive black raspberry bouquet with hints of plum and blackberry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic and juicy. The flavor profile is a ripe black plum and blackberry with nicely integrated oak. I also detected some mild black raspberry as well. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins linger for a bit and then fade away. This Pinot is quite food friendly and would pair well with cedar planked salmon with a Pinot blackberry drizzle sauce. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Stoller Pinot Noir really excels during cooler vintages – the earthiness and spice aren’t overwhelmed with ripe fruit, and you see a seamless integration in texture and delicate acid. This one in particular shows bright color and a palate that is light and still a bit tight, even 9 months after bottling; somewhat atypical characteristics for Stoller Vineyards. The nose has warm aromas of resin, dusty fruit, seasoned wood, brown spice, white pepper, and milk chocolate. Follow all that by soft tannins and a sour-cherry-accented lingering finish – Beautiful.
