Wine Review: This ruby colored Pinot Noir from the Ribbon Ridge AVA in Oregon opens with a heavenly cherry cola and strawberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, very smooth and elegant. The flavor profile is a tasty mild black plum with hints of old oak, green tea, and a touch of minerality. The finish is dry and its fine tannins drift away nicely. This Pinot is very refined and food friendly. You could serve it with grilled salmon or pork tenderloin in the near term. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: A complex, 3-dimensional, dark-fruited Pinot Noir, with Christmas spice, molasses, dark chocolate, sassafras and tobacco accents, this is a rich wine typical of Ribbon Ridge. The cubic nature of the wine shows fleshy berry fruit and wood spices, but interleafed with broad, subtle, smooth and velvety tannins, and sewn together by light acidity. Young, rewarding more time in the bottle.
