Wine Review: This pale white gold colored wine is a rarity. It is a Gruner Veltliner from Oregon. It opens with a pleasant tangerine bouquet with a hint of wet stone, spice, and Bosc Pear. On the palate, this wine is light to medium bodied, round and slightly acidic. The flavor profile is a pleasant green apple with notes of minerality and Bosc pear. I also detected a hint of white pepper and lime. The finish is dry, crisp and refreshing. This is a very flavorful white wine that will pair very well with steamed mussels in a garlic white wine broth. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Fruity and spicy components combine, with ripe peach, stone, white flower, licorice, white pepper aromas and flavors, with great texture and weight ending in a ripe white fruit finish. The third vintage bottling of Gruner.
