Wine Review: This dark red colored Pinot Noir from Chehalem opens with a black raspberry and old oak bouquet. On the palate, this wine is light bodied, balanced, juicy and very approachable. The flavor profile is a tasty mild oak infused black raspberry with hints of strawberry, old oak and black tea. The finish is dry and its mild tannins drift away nicely. I would pair this Pinot with teriyaki chicken. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: This is your first taste of summer. Delicious savory and smoky notes reminiscent of a backyard grilling session are accented with fresh strawberries, chocolate cherries, and fresh earth. Now, top off the grilling with the feeling of a cool, sunny morning – bright, lively acid on the tongue and a silky, breezy tannin through the finish, great balance and clean on the palate. As with all cooler vintages, this wine will continue opening up over quite a few years.
