Wine Review: This straw colored Chardonnay from Washington State is for oak lovers. It opens with a vanilla-oak influenced pear bouquet with hints of pineapple. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and savory. The flavor profile is an oak influenced pear and lemon verbena blend with notes of mild minerality. I detected a touch of pineapple and green apple in the background. The finish is dry and fades away nicely. This Chard would pair nicely with pasta carbonara. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Our Indian Wells Chardonnay delivers an appealing tropical fruit character typical of warm sites like the Wahluke Slope. I like this Chardonnay's ripe pineapple and butterscotch flavors and creamy texture. Try it with scallops, scampi or pasta with rich sauces.
