Wine Review: If you are looking for a soft and wimpy Merlot, then you should look elsewhere, because this CSM merlot is packed with jammy flavors. It is opaque and almost black colored and opens with a very fragrant blackberry bouquet with hints of anise. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, rich and very concentrated for a Merlot. The flavor profile is an extracted blackberry with notes of anise, black pepper and a hint of oak. The finish is quite dry and its fruit flavors linger along with its sticky tannins. This wine will appeal to Aussie Shiraz fans and would pair well with a messy rack of barbecue ribs. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: We craft this wine to be our complex yet approachable Merlot. The wine offers aromas of black cherry, leather and spice with layers of rich dark red fruit and cola flavors. I think of this inviting wine as a great "everyday red."
