Wine Review: Considering the price point the Souverain wines are traditionally in, the Sauvignon Blanc firmly stands its ground. Peach, basil, and hints of chalk show through on the nose. The palate has additional notes of kumquats, gooseberries, and mild notes of pineapple. The finish is cleansing, due to the bright acidity, and lasts for quite some time. The Souverain Sauvignon Blanc would do just fine on its own, but would shine with pasta with mussels. – Nicolay
Winemaker Notes: The 2016 Chateau Souverain Sauvignon Blanc opens with vibrant aromas of pink grapefruit, guava and a hint of lime zest. A dry, crisp palate delivers layered flavors of ripe melon, orange blossom and honeysuckle. Mouthwatering acidity balances a richly textured finish. Perfect to pair alongside your favorite fresh oysters.
