Wine Review: Dark ruby in color, this Merlot is medium-plus in body with pleasing aromas of chocolate, raspberry and saddle leather. The flavor profile is more raspberry with hints of blueberry and generous black fruit flavors throughout. Flinty minerals give the wine additional structure and the mild tannins lead to an enjoyable finish. Serve with braised hunter chicken after using some in the recipe. – Jeoff
Winemaker Notes: Chateau Souverain Merlot opens with dark red fruit aromas reminiscent of black cherry, plum, and fresh blueberries complemented by hints of brown spice and baking chocolate. This Merlot finishes with soft acidity and a fruit-driven balance that gives the wine a polished sense of elegance.
